WHAT IS SHEARING?

Shearing is a specific cutting process that separates the sheet metal into two or more pieces. It splits the sheet metal by producing straight-line cuts. Shearing is often used for cutting into rectangular shapes but can produce other shaped parts.

HOW IT WORKS

One of the blades remains stationary, while an upper blade and a lower blade fracture the material into separate pieces as the blades force past each other. The shearing process creates a clean cut that can quickly be repeated.

WHAT IS ROLLING?

The meaning of rolling is the process in which metal is passed through one or more pairs of rolls to decrease the thickness. The rolling process can be done by hot or cold. The objective of rolling is to reduce the thickness of the metal that also increases in length.

HOW IT WORKS

The rolling process consists of passing the metal through a gap that is smaller than the thickness in between the rollers rotating in the opposite direction. The metal gradually changes shape and width while in between the rollers.
